Steve Kagen runs an ad referring to his challenger, Republican businessman Reid Ribble, as a politician. Only, as the Weekly Standard's Stephen Hayes points out, Ribble has never held public office, while Kagen's on his second term. What is this, say-anything week? Apparently yes: Hayes goes on to dissect Kagen's ad saying Ribble lobbied for looser borders as a means of getting cheap, illegal-immigrant labor. Every word of it, Hayes points out, is the opposite of reality.
