How to Tell Real Pearls from Fake - Associated Content

* In a necklace or bracelet, genuine pearls are more likely to have little knots between each one, so they can't rub together. They are also likely to have expensive settings, such as gold, silver or platinum.

Unfortunately, none of these tests are absolutely foolproof. Unscrupulous dealers have been known to coat glass or plastic beads with several layers of nacre and thus trick even the most careful customer.

To be perfectly safe, take the pearls to an independent, registered gemologist. He will x-ray the pearls and if they are genuine, he will be able to see the parasite that caused the formation of the pearl, the layers of nacre accumulation, and inner variations in density. His charge for this service will be about $150.00.

When you consider that the cost of a genuine pearl necklace will amount to thousands of dollars, the cost of this service, to insure your peace of mind, is negligible.

Don't hesitate; it will be worth every penny when you watch that special lady proudly socializing with friends and relatives, secure in the knowledge that she is every bit as fashionably-adorned as Mrs. Bush and Queen Elizabeth.

As you bask in her obvious gratitude, appreciation and enjoyment of your gift, you'll probably conclude that it was worth every penny.

Worth the Price of Glory

"I admit that Gen. George Patton didn't want us." But many American forces needed us in all areas, of the war." He lecture his grandson that the books and films might never give minorities their dues because they believe in keeping fictions alive by denying their worth to America forces.

"I guess no respect is a honor of respect." The elder Pryor comment. "Maybe, but tell me more granddad." Who starts to relive certain segments of his years in the second war? "Your granddad was known as "Hot-Head" something he's still known by. Friends just don't tell him. "Hot-Head?" Explaining to his grandson that many racist officers learned about him the moment they called him the N.... word.

"I'm not the type to deal with disrespect but the government tolerated it like a piece of art." Saying they want us to fight along with bigots. Who needed us to be able to stand firm against the Nazis? A group he believes could have kept the war going on for years. If it wasn't for their leader assuming full command decisions from the Field Marshall on the battle field. "Who Hitler?" "That's the one Ty.. he's the one." He exerts, the man only visited the battle field of his own troops when it was tightly controlled by his Third Reich. "Least many of our Generals in charge saw battle."

"What's your take on Hitler?" "My Take?" he ask his grandson Tyson. "You know your opinion." "Ty, I know what you're asking?" Advising him patience is needed when answers are wanted. Something he feels reporters can learn.
"We hear racist..we hear all types of comments..and they all would be debated by someone." Which he says is like the film they are watching. He gives his grandson his opinion further by pointing out that Hitler connected with some idiots. Who saw things accordingly for their own purpose? "They needed the Jews to stand out as the problem."

Explaining that long before the second war many were successful and humble citizens living with the Germany population. "He was holding on to grudges from the first World War, where he felt decisions was made to cripple Germany?" He states to his grandson that opinions will always create different points.

End the reefer madness - Anniston Star

Posted: 12 Jun 2010 12:51 AM PDT

Re "Evils of marijuana?" (Speak Out, May 23):

Marijuana wasn't outlawed because of any evidence of harm. The pot laws were the result of outrageous and (now) racist lies that have been used as U.S. government propaganda to outlaw marijuana.

Odious fictions have been used to throw millions of people into prison and to waste more than a trillion dollars in tax money. It's time to end reefer madness so society can experience the benefits of cannabis sativa. After we get past the lies, marijuana can be used for a myriad of medical uses and is far less harmful as a recreational drug than alcohol.
